Specialist training for professionals working with parents in conflict

Protecting Children from Parental Conflict: The Making and Breaking of Family Ties

About the Training

This online course, delivered over six half-days, offers a practical framework for assessing and treating families across a spectrum of complexity, including cases where:

• Parental conflict (together or separated) is affecting the child

• Contact or residency is disputed or has broken down

• Litigation, allegations, or ‘parental alienation’ are present

• Professionals have been involved with little or no progress

Grounded in the book High Conflict Parenting Post Separation: The Making and Breaking of Family Ties (Routledge), this training is led by its authors Emma Morris (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) and Eia Asen (Consultant Psychiatrist)—renowned practitioners in systemic, attachment-based, and mentalization-informed approaches and years of experience working with parents in conflict across legal, health and social care settings.

What You’ll Gain

• A clear conceptual framework for assessment, communication, and treatment planning

• Tools to reduce blame and shield children from conflict

• Strategies to re-establish safe contact between children and parents

• Support for safe, reflective practice in entrenched conflict scenarios
