Our Mission
We are Dr Claire Arnold and Dr Emma Morris, Consultant Clinical Psychologists passionate about working collaboratively to support people overcome trauma. The Trauma Recovery Space provides expert care and support. We work in partnership with individuals, families and trauma-exposed organisations, prioritising safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment and cultural sensitivity to support them move forward following traumatic experiences.
About us
We both have over 20 years experience as qualified clinical psychologists, working in specialist positions within NHS mental health services, local authorities, charities (including the Anna Freud Centre) government departments such as the Home Office and the justice system. We are trained in numerous evidence-based treatments, and are experts in providing trauma-focused assessment and therapy for children, young people, couples, families and adults. We have led specialist teams and projects, designed treatments and trainings and written publications.
We believe that, while people are inherently resilient, anyone can be overwhelmed by experiences that they are not equipped to cope with. Such experiences may constitute major trauma, or may be much more subtle than that. We understand many difficulties with mental health, relationships and school or work as attempts to cope with such experiences. The Trauma recovery Space is a high quality, clinical service that aligns with NHS standards of care, and a specialist resource for professionals and organisations.

Our space
We know that the physical environment can significantly impact our emotions and behaviours, potentially increasing or reducing our stress and arousal levels.
At The Trauma Recovery Space, we have worked hard to create a space that will allow people to feel safe and secure. Based in an old primary school that has been converted into offices, we hope that you will find our rooms calm, warm and inviting. Our offices benefit from a quiet waiting area and outdoor space.
Our rooms are suitable for adults, children and families.
